Annemarie got her first shipment of cherries today and she has already eaten more than half of the 12 pounds today. She says she has been waiting all year to get them. When you said the harvest was "good", I thought that was code for "average". The cherries that have been making it to the east coast supermarkets this summer have been the smallest and below average I've tasted in years. So I was prepared for the same from you, but I was wrong! - Your cherries again were huge and cracklin full of cherry flavor- everyone at work and home enjoyed and appreciated them immensely. So now I know when you say "good", you mean great!

The first batch of cherries arrived in Fairbanks, Alaska on Friday, 7/13/06 in perfect condition & very tasty. Took half to work where they disappeared in a hour & saved the other half for the family. Those cherries were so very very good that I didn't see how the late season cherries could possibly be better, but they are -- tangy and crisp, just perfect (arrived today). I like them best. Sent some to my mother & sister in Friday Harbor, WA & they were delighted; said they were the best cherries they'd tasted. They'd just bought some cherries at the grocery store & after tasting your Buckskin Orchard cherries, threw the store bought cherries on the compost pile.
Am so glad I stumbled across your website. As a child growing up in Alaska, I used to dream of a greenhouse big enough for an orchard of fruit trees so I could have ripe fruit whenever I wanted it, even in the winter. Still can't have that, but I can order your cherries instead!

We received our Rainier Cherries on Friday. They were delicious (we're on our second 6 lb. box today Sun.). Also, we couldn't believe how big they were. I have been ordering (from Harry and David) Rainiers for about 15 years now, and these were by far the largest I have ever had. We can't wait to get the Red Cherries to try them too.

My treat of the year arrived yesterday in perfect condition, another fantastic crop of Rainier Cherries, great job. I will share with you a quick story from earlier this year-knowing the California crop came in earlier, I decided I would try to get some California Rainier's-I ordered some from Cherry Season, big mistake. The cherries were shipped in a supermarket like container-plastic that held about 3 lbs-with bubble wrap around the container in a box-2/3rd or more of the cherries were bruised-especially the top around the stem with a huge amount rottening. Needless to say I was disappointed, let them know, and they refunded me-I did not tell them your shipping secret.
This incident alone reminded me of the care and expertise you and Jennifer put into growing and shipping your fruit. Thanks again for a great years crop, you know I will be purchasing your cherries and apples for years to come. If for some crazy reason you find yourself near Atlanta, we would invite you to come by stay and enjoy our hospitality.

I grew up in orchard country in Michigan and know what a good cherry tastes like and Buckskin Orchard cherries are the archetypal dream cherry. In our experience Harry and David's cherries aren't even in the same league.
Almost simultaneously this year we received our Buckskin Orchard cherries and a box of cherries from Harry and David. The Harry and David cherries were a complete rip-off. They were tasteless, overripe, of uneven size and grade-some had stems some didn't. I could buy better cherries here at the local grocery than those from H. and D. The box cost $39.95 for 2 lb.
In complete contrast,the cherries from Buckskin Orchard were perfect in everyway-crisp, juicy, every cherry a joy to eat, packed well, consistent in size with stems, no bad cherries in the lot. They were worth every penny we spent for them. Everyone who tasted the cherries agreed they were the best they'd ever experienced. I'm ordering pears next.

I placed an order with you a couple of weeks ago. Like most people these days, we are on a budget. I was feeling a little bit guilty about spending so much on fruit! We decided to treat ourselves and feel like we were doing a small part in supporting a family owned farm. I have never tasted anything so delicious, and I expect I may have never really tasted what a cherry is supposed to taste like! I got my shipment yesterday. The box was a little crushed and I told the delivery man to hold on while I opened the box to ensure the cherries were not damaged. We were both very impressed when we saw the cherries. They were not damaged. They were absolutely gorgeous - excellent color, great size - and they taste delicious. You certainly won't find cherries of this quality and size in any grocery store. By the way, I have promoted your cheeries to family and friends. Thank you SO much for the EXCELLENT box of cherries I received today. I found your website one night and thought I would give you a try this year. I consider myself a 'fruit snob' and have ordered from several vendors over the years. I was employed by the fruit grower "Harry and David" for over 10 years and have always bought my cherries from them but am always on the lookout for 'bigger, better, crunchier' cherries. This year I ordered my usual order from Harry and David and tried out another vendor in Texas as well. The Texas cherries were a terrible disappointment, tiny fruit, tasteless and soft. The pits in your cherries are about the size of the fruit from them, they might grow some GREAT grapefruit but the cherries, I don't think so! I am AMAZED at the size of each cherry from your orchard. The box was delivered in mid-morning and the fruit was quite warm. I opened up the carton and could not believe my eyes! NOW THESE ARE CHERRIES! I bit into one of the dark reds expecting to find good but warm, soft fruit. I was surprised to find that even the warm cherries were sweet, crunchy and juicy. I proceeded to 'sample' several dark reds and several Rainier's before I decided to stop and chill the fruit out of the carton and see what it would be like then. I just popped a big, ol' dark red in my mouth and I could not be happier. Great Job Buckskin Orchard!! BTW...my order from Harry and David arrived...I gave them to my neighbor in exchange for watering my garden...LOL Harry and David has NOTHING on you! I want to spread the word about your cherries but am afraid I will leave myself short for next years crop...Any chance I can get on the list today for 2005? Thanks again for providing such wonderful fruit. You are the leaders in cherries, no comparison

Hello Buckskin Orchard,
I met my sister at your orchard in July to pick up cherries. I want you to know that they were a hit (I distributed them to several friends) and lasted at least a month in my refrigerator. You should also know that while we packed the cherries on ice, it was a very hot day and we had them in the trunk, the back seat (I think I bought 50 lbs of cherries) and it was several hours before we got back to Seattle. The cherries took the stressful journey in stride - they were great!
You all are fighting the good fight - there are plenty of people out there who really appreciate good, high quality fruit. Thanks so much and hooray for small farmers! If you are ever looking for a marketer, help with distributing or whatever let me know. Though my background is IT, my interest and enthusiasm in your product would be enough!

I just received my first order of cherries yesterday in Florida, 7/10/03. WOW! Needless to say, it won't be my last! What a wonderful experience to hear the "crunch" of a cherry when you bite into it. A major improvement over the store bought cherry wanabees I am used to purchasing. The flavor was outstanding in both the Lapins and Rainier varieties. A real treat to experience such a robust and good tasting cherry. I would advise anyone who is a "cherry-a-holic" to try these beauties for themselves and experience what a cherry should taste like. I got my Rainier cherry order today. It was a major mistake having them delivered to where I work as I doubt I'll have many left to take home. They really put to shame the beat up cherries I usually get in the supermarket. These were carefully packed and everyone was picture perfect, the largest cherries I have ever seen and almost totally blemish free. Plus they taste as good as they look. Rainiers Rock.
